About the artist
Hannah is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Oakland, CA, working at the confluence of visual art, community storytelling, and glaciology, and climate science.
Originally from Massachusetts, she has studied the relationship between people and place around the world, partnering with a number of science and wilderness organizations, including as a Visiting Artist with the International Arctic Science Committee in Iceland, as the Artist-in-Residence with Chulengo Expeditions in Chile, and as Artist-in-Residence and Art Faculty with the Juneau Icefield Research Program in Alaska. She is currently a Creative Fellow at Google and the Senior Fellow at Gallery Route One in Point Reyes, CA.
In the Bay Area, Hannah can usually be found making (mostly blue) art, organizing community storytelling projects, and working as a freelance designer and illustrator. She has a BS in Studio Art from Skidmore College and an MFA in Studio Art from Mills College. Her work has been shown at venues throughout the Bay Area, Boston, Brooklyn, and Juneau.
